Aliento’s Statement on the recent COVID-19
Aliento Family,
We hope this message finds everyone in good health and safe. As you may be aware, on Tuesday, March 11, 2020, it was announced that Arizona was in a State of Emergency following an increase of COVID-19 cases in both the state and the country. Additionally, recommendations from the CDC include minimizing interactions in large social settings.
Aliento strives to always host and create spaces where we can safely build community. It is with this in mind that the Aliento Core Team has taken the following decisions of precocious:
We have decided to postpone our Arts + Healing workshop that was scheduled for next Saturday, March 21st. We are working on creating some sort of virtual version of our workshop and will keep everyone updated when we solidify that.
Events at our Aliento Hubs will also be postponed for the month of March. This impacts schools like MHS, MCC, and ASU. More information about event cancellations is still to come from each individual hub so please stay tuned to their social media for more information.
We advise everyone to make sure they stay informed and safe. For the latest information on the COVID-19, check the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for the latest and most accurate information.
We will be updating you about any developments that could impact DACA recipients, mixed status families and the greater migrant community through our social media platforms.
With Love and Care,
The Aliento Team
