About Aliento

Aliento is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving  students, Dreamers, and mixed-status families to transform trauma into hope and action. Aliento is led by directly impacted individuals, youth, and supporters who strive to create an environment where human potential is nurtured and not defined by immigration status. Aliento supports students and families through education initiatives, arts & healing programming, leadership development, civic engagement, and policy.

We have impacted the lives of over 50,000 people through programs and led the efforts to pass Prop: 308, tuition equity for Arizona students regardless of immigration status. We are a leading voice for students, Dreamers, and mixed-status families locally, nationally, and globally.

Scope of Work

  1. Project Management and execution of Train the Trainers and Education Day 

    • Context: must be available days below in person 

      • Train the trainers on January 17, 2026, and Education Day on January 28th, 2026

    • Ensure Education Day workflow is updated daily, and communicate with VP daily via Slack when gaps and challenges arise.

      • Identify gaps and opportunities

      • Support the execution of Train the Trainers and Education Day 

        • Including but not limited to: tracking field trips, communicating with schools, etc.  

    • Ensure all deliverables are tracked accordingly. 

    • Train students and educators on how to facilitate/lead legislative meetings the Aliento way.

  2. Project Management and execution of “Mini-Education Days”

    • Context: must be available in person on the weeks of March 9th through March 20th

    • Support the execution of Aliento's mini-days

      • Ensure the Mini-E-day’s workflow is updated daily, and communicate with VP daily via Slack when gaps and challenges arise.

        • Identify gaps and opportunities

        • Support the execution of Mini E-Days. 

          • Including but not limited to: tracking school attendance, communicating with schools and student leaders, etc.  

      • Ensure all deliverables are tracked accordingly. 

      • Train students and educators on how to facilitate/lead legislative meetings the Aliento way.

  3. Tracking Nurture Department Annual Deliverables 

    • Support the VP of Education and External Affairs on tracking Nurture deliverables.  

    • Report to the VP of Education, External Affairs, on progress on goals, challenges, and opportunities regarding the Nurture Department Goals 

  4. Support the execution and tracking of fellows and partner hubs events 

    • Including, but not limited to, planning, logistics, and in-person attendance 

  5. Provide weekly reports in memo format to the VP of Education and External Affairs.  

  6. Transportation Requirement:

    • The contractor is responsible for maintaining a reliable mode of transportation to complete onsite responsibilities, including but not limited to travel to schools, community partners, offices, and event locations. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the contractor unless otherwise stated.

Timeline

  1. December to June 2026 - 25 to 35 hours per week

  2. Start date: Start date to be determined

Minimum Qualifications

Available at least 2 full school days per semester between Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM

  • Attend the in-person Facilitator Training on Saturday, August 9th, 2025

  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35 lbs

  • Reliable transportation for commuting to different high schools in the Phoenix metro area

  • Willing to attend early morning virtual prep meetings with teachers

Must be able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card and complete volunteer clearance with school partners

Compensation

  • $26 to $28/hour depending on experience
