Aliento is led by directly impacted individuals, youth, and supporters who strive to create an environment where human potential is nurtured and not defined by immigration status. Aliento supports students and families through education initiatives, arts & healing programming, leadership development, civic engagement, and policy.
We have impacted the lives of close to 70,000 people through programs and led the efforts to pass Prop. 308, tuition equity for Arizona students regardless of immigration status. We are a leading voice for students, Dreamers, and immigrant families locally, nationally, and globally.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the Education Manager in executing all department goals and priorities. The Education Coordinator will assist in managing education programs, partnerships, and outreach efforts to ensure that students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. This role requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about education equity and has a strong background in program support and community engagement.

The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting education programs, building partnerships, and working with diverse communities. They should be an excellent communicator, both in English and Spanish, and have a proven track record of successfully managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The candidate should be proactive, resourceful, and able to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve organizational goals. This role is ideal for somebody who enjoys programmatic support and has a detailed approach to their personal execution. Experience in non-profit, school-based, or community organizations is highly desired
1+ years of experience in relevant work: supporting programs, team collaboration, strategic planning, etc.
Thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment and is self-motivated to achieve results and continuously improve
Public speaking ability, or a willingness to develop and improve this skill as part of the role
1+ years of experience working with high school or college students, or equivalent experience that demonstrates the ability to engage and support this age group
Somebody who sees themselves on a continued pathway of programmatic support
Team player who assumes the best in others and is self-reflective
Experience with project execution - knowledgeable in creating project plans, managing up and laterally towards end project outcomes, and being able to pivot/adjust in fast-paced environments
Detail-oriented in their work and tasks, with strong organizational skills; holds others to the same standards
Compelling communicator, both written and verbal, to a variety of internal and external audiences
Proficient in Google Workspace
Aligned and committed to the mission and core values of Aliento; passionate about supporting immigrants, education, mental health, arts, and other areas that advance the rights of students, Dreamers, and immigrant families.
Essential Functions
Specified duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist in developing, building, and maintaining partnerships with key education stakeholders
Support the management of Scholarship Programs & Partnerships
Monitor and operate our DACA hotline through phone calls and text messages
Collaborate with other departments to connect families with other immigration-related resources
Connect families when appropriate to existing opportunities to get involved with Aliento
Execute workshops and presentations for high school and college students on college readiness topics, including financial aid, the college application process, and campus life
Deliver professional development sessions for educators, counselors, and other practitioners, providing resources and guidance on how to effectively support Dreamer students.
Provide one-on-one support to students, answering questions and offering guidance on their college readiness journey
Assist in facilitating workshops to support learning within institutions and the community.
Research and update current education resource guides and FAQs for immigrant families in English and Spanish
Other duties - 10%
Participate actively in weekly meetings (all staff, team meetings, and 1:1 check in’s)
Meet weekly with assigned supervisor with prepared check-in templates
Attend quarterly stepbacks and bi-annual retreats

Compensation Package
FTE $48,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience
