Report to: Vice President of Education & External Affairs
Location: Phoenix, AZ (in-person availability required on specified dates; some remote work possible).
Contract Term: December 2025 - June 2026

Position Summary
The Nurture Consultant is a temporary contractor role responsible for supporting the Nurture Department—specifically the planning, project management, and execution of Train the Trainers, Education Day, Mini-Education Days, and annual deliverables tracking.
This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented consultant who thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates exceptional communication skills, and can support both educators and students in preparing for legislative meetings “the Aliento way.”
The consultant will work closely with the VP of Education & External Affairs and will provide weekly progress memos, maintain updated workflows, identify challenges, and ensure seamless execution of department priorities.

The ideal candidate has experience working in nonprofit, education, or youth-serving environments, is bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred), and brings strong stakeholder communication skills.

Compelling communicator, both written and verbal, to a variety of internal and external audiences
Proficient in Google Workspace
Must maintain reliable transportation to travel to schools, community partners, offices, and event locations. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the contractor unless otherwise stated.

Scope of Work
Education Day - January 28th, 2025
Support the execution of Education Day under the leadership of the VP of Education & External Affairs.
Owning logistical components of the preparation and day of some examples are tracking field trips, communicating with schools, etc.
Support all Education Day deliverables, identify gaps and opportunities, and communicate progress daily to the VP of Education and External Affairs.
Ensure all deliverables are tracked accordingly.
Support training students and educators on how to facilitate/lead legislative meetings the Aliento way.
Mini-Education Days - March 9th to March 20th
Support the execution of Aliento's mini-days
Outreach goal of all mini-days: 50 unique attendees in aggregate
Support the VP of Education and External Affairs
Support the VP of Education and External Affairs on tracking Nurture deliverables.
Report to the VP of Education, External Affairs, on progress on goals, challenges, and opportunities regarding the Nurture Department
Support the execution of fellows and partner hubs events through planning, logistics, and in-person attendance.
This includes supporting students in planning and executing the event

Contract Term: December 2025 – June 2026
Hours: 25–35 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications
Available at least 2 full school days per semester between Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM
Attend the in-person Facilitator Training on Saturday, August 9th, 2025
Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35 lbs
Reliable transportation for commuting to different high schools in the Phoenix metro area
Willing to attend early morning virtual prep meetings with teachers
Must be able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card and complete volunteer clearance with school partners
Compensation
$26 to $28/hour depending on experience
